And do not trust information you get on the travel guides or internet, more than half of those schedules & fares are out of date!
The only way to be sure is have a direct contact - go to the terminal, or contact a phone number / FaceBook site.
Please ask us if in doubt.
Manila - Sablayan by Bus (and Ferry)
This is a very cheap and flexible option.
Count 1400 ₱ per person for one way - plus supplement if many luggage.
Directly with RoRoBus or Jariv, connecting PITX bus terminal in Manila to Grand Terminal in Sablayan.
Around 10h trip. The bus will go on the ferry between Batangas and Abra de Ilog.
No need to book. Just go to the station about one hour before departure, and buy your ticket there.
In Manila, take the bus in PITX Bus Terminal (near the airport).
In Sablayan, take the bus at the Grand Terminal.
Several busses every day:
Manila to Sablayan: 08:30, 12:30, 16:00, 20:00
Sablayan to Manila: 07:00, 10:00, 16:00, 20:00
A bit faster is to go first to Batangas (busses every 10 minutes from most bus stations), then to Abra de Ilog (ferry every 4 hours, day and night). Finally, jump in the first bus or van to Sablayan. But you will have to carry your luggage and care about the tickets at Batangas port.
Manila - Sablayan by Private Van (and Ferry)
Expensive, but even more flexible and more comfortable.
We can organize a private van to pick you up, either at the airport or at your hotel in Manila.
Count around 15'000 ₱ for one way, for up to 8 persons.
Around 9h trip.
Clark - Sablayan by Plane (and Bus or Van)
Moderately expensive, but faster.
Flight between Angeles (Clark Airport) and San Jose de Mindoro.
From Clark to San Jose, departure every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:40.
From San Jose to Manila, departure every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:30.
In San Jose airport, take a tricycle to go to the Bus Terminal. Take a bus there or public van to Sablayan (2h, 200 ₱).
Or a private van from the airport (1h1/2, 4'500 ₱)
Note that the Cebu Pacific route between Manila and San Jose was suspended on 01/11/25.
Puerto Galera - Sablayan
You need to arrange a fishing boat to bring you to Abra de Ilog (Ask your hotel / resort, or talk with people on the beach or at the harbour)
1h and 3000 for up to 3 persons, from White Beach or Talipanan. A bit more expensive and longer from Balatero or
(No more shuttle boat between Puerto Galera and Abra de Ilog since pandemic).
Note that the road connecting Puerto and Abra is not completed yet. You can do it by 4WD car, motorbike or trekking; One last bridge is not connected, implying crossing a small river. Trekking, you can ask a tricycle to bring you as far as possible from Puerto, then walk a couple of hours (including crossing the river) until you find a tricycle on the Abra side. Just follow the unfinished road.
In Abra de Ilog harbour, take either a bus, a public van or a private van to Sablayan. (Less than 3h)
Boracay - Sablayan
By Boat (and bus/van):
Caticlan - Bulalacao (Or. Mindoro) with FastCat (500 ₱, 3h, 2 trips a day)
From Bulalacao, take a bus / van to San Jose (1h), then a bus / van to Sablayan (2h)
Palawan - Sablayan
No direct flight, you would have to go back to Manila then fly to San Jose.
There is only one boat company linking San Jose de Mindoro and Coron (Northern Palawan):
Bunso operates twice a week (Monday and Friday from Coron, departure at 8am; Tuesday and Saturday from San Jose, departure at 9am. 1600 Pesos, 6 hours).

Montenegro Lines has suspended this route after a few months operation.
Or you can charter a boat, and eventually combine it with a stop in Apo Reef, more or less on the way. Expensive though, please contact us if interested.
